Does anyone know of a car hire to take us from Szczecin to Berlin? I am trying to avoid a huge drop fee from the rental agency. Don't want to do train or bus. Thanks
In July of 2003 to go Gdansk (Danzig), I took the train from Berlin Zoologischer Garten to Szczecin (Stettin) but had to transfer first at Angermunde,(as posted above), at Szczecin transfered to another train to Gdansk...a slow, but fascinating and punctual ride through former eastern Pomerania and West Prussia.
We have used Mike's Chauffeur (recommended by RS) three times in the past few years...he is wonderful!! We did Prague-Vienna, Vienna-Budapest, Prague-Bratislava-Vienna, but he does Poland, Germany, Czech Rep and Austria. He is on time every time, clean vehicles and friendly drivers and you can plan stops along the way if you want.
There is a direct motorway from Szczecin to Berlin, that you can reach Berlin near Bernau bei Berlin (from NE part of Berlin area). The motorway is called autostrada A6 in Poland and then Bundesautobahn 11 in Germany. The distance is about 130 km

a bit of bad news about your post - first the section of the helpline you posted on has been closed, and secondly, the person who asked the question you just answered took their trip almost exactly 4 years ago. Unfortunately she may not be still checking for answers.
