I am trying to find a tour to Cappadocia from Istanbul (via overnight bus, preferably) that includes a hot air balloon tour. There are dozens of companies out there that do both, but none of them seem to include everything in one package (balloon plus the usual on-ground tour). Is it possible to book the ground tour and balloon tour separately, since the balloon tour will finish before the ground tour starts for the day?
Absolutely. There are several reputatble companies with good safety track records that provide hot air balloon rides--trust me, this is one where you don't necessarily want to go with the lowest bidder! You'll be back at your hotel by about the time you would have been up for breakfast. Typically the on the ground tours don't start till mid morning.
Any good travel agency in Istanbul can set both of these up, but there is really no need to book your balloon tour till you are in Cappadocia. Weather is the determining factor, and you won't know exactly what the weather will do till you are there.
Hi!
We;ve actually been researching this ...and the company we booked with doesn't offer the balloon ride, but they suggested waiting until we get there and then they can assist us when we are in Capadoccia if the weather permits this. Goreme Balloons seem to be the most recommended.
We booked our tour with allistanbultours.com
We fly from IST for 2 days. This worked best for us, but they do have bus tours.
I put up some videos of Turkey on our personal website, along with a list of websites we have used in our research.
If you are interested, go to ...
ourpassportstamps.com and then into Our 2009 Adventure.
Let me know which one of us leaves 1st on the trip (we're in April and May) and if you want we can exhange info on our experiences there.

Hi there,
I will recommend you to check this web http://www.cappadociahotairballoon.com
They have cappadocia package tours and hot air balloon tours as well. You can contact them.
Have nice trip
Be sure to do the balloon ride! I never thought I would do such a thing, but when I went to Turkey in 2004, I did it & loved it! It was not scary; it was amazing!

We will be in Turkey for the month of Sept and found this site helpful. In the Forums section I came across this thread that may help you.

Kapadoka ballons was the best top rate, when we flew everyone else had landed and we sailed on for another hour. Most experienced. Also there are great day tours of Cappodocia throught the hotel Kelebek.
Do not miss out on this part oof the country...
