cappadocia itinerary

Hello! I will be visiting Cappadocia for about 2.5 days this March. I am thinking of booking a tour for one day to go and see some sights further out and then spending one day exploring by foot, bicycle or scooter. I will be staying in Goreme and I am having a lot of trouble figuring out what sites will be accessible by foot/bicycle/scooter. Does anyone have any ideas?? I'm thinking I can start at the Open Air Musuem and then head to a valley but really not sure which valley's and if this is even feasible or if there are even other sites to see using this mode of transportation. Any help would be much, much appreciated!

Your hotel can probably provide help booking these tours after you arrive. We stayed in Upgup and loved the area and small village atmosphere. I would contact the hotel you are planning to stay in by e-mail and ask for help planning your Give them the itinerary or list of your interests and ask for a reply
including times and cost.

The open air museum in Goreme is one of the top sites in Cappadocia, so stick with your plan to see that. There are also a couple of stand alone churches worth a look that are on the road between the village and the museum (buckle and evil eye). There lots of trails around Goreme. I agree with the earlier post to check with your hotel about good hikes based on difficulty and the amount of time you want to spend. There are also some nice fairly chiminies a short ride/scoot from Goreme if you end up renting a bike or scooter. If you don't get this nailed down in advance, this is something you can figure out when you arrive. For your day with the tour company hopefully you will see some of the other highlights of the area (an underground city, caravanasary, Uchisar castle (for the views) and some of the different types of fairy chimnies). Good luck.
