Cappadocia

I have planned a trip to Turkey for July, and used One Nation Travel web site: http://www.allistanbultours.com . Has anyone ever heard of the company? I would appreciate a response a.s.a.p. Its a private tour, not with a group. We are going to Istanbul and Cappadocia.

I don't know anything about the quality of the service provided. But I do know that this agency spammed both this forum and tripadvisor with ads disguised as "reviews." There are lots of reputatble travel agencies in Turkey. I personally would not give my business to a company that blatantly disregarded the no-ads policy on forums and pretended that its ads were from customers. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, this practice is really annoying. One tip-off that a "review" isn't anything but a disguised ad is when the poster has little or no history of posting and the "review" prominently lists the agency but not other meaningful information.

I've done quite a lot of travel in Turkey, so I don't use agencies much anymore. But I have in the past used Tur-ista and Argeus in Istanbul. Both were good for things like arranging internal flights on discount airlines, overnight sleeper trains, tours in Cappadocia (which I think are essential, even if you have a car, because the sites are spread out and decent maps hard to come by), etc. I think that Tur-ista has an arrangement with Rock Valley Tours in Cappadocia, who have a pretty good range of tours available in Cappadocia. What I wouldn't recommend is to use travel agencies for arranging lodging--you will pay a premium for not booking directly with the pansiyon or hotel.

Hello James,

My two cents: I did use the services of One Nation Travel recently and it turned out to be a pretty worry-free transaction. The company was recommeded to me by a friend who had used them previously and was quite pleased. July is a warm month in Cappadocia so be prepared with sun-screen!!! Otherwise, have a nice trip, you will absolutely LOVE the destinations you have chosen in Turkey. I recommend the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia and staying in cave-hotels. Hope you have a wonderful time.
