I am planning a September 2011 trip to Bulgaria and then on to Turkey for a couple of weeks and am going to need the help of a travel agent for at least the Bulgaria piece of the trip. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Hi, We were in Sofia and Veliky Tarnovo, Bulgaria last spring. Let me recommend the Hostel Mostel. In Bulgaria to get English speaking hotel helpers, you need an international hotel (red expensive) or a hostel. Hostel Mostel is an amazing place, very helpful. It has locations in both cities. Sofia has not flourished with the other capital cities of Eastern Europe, but is starting to catch up. We took the train from Istanbul to Sofia. now that was an experience. wayne iNWI

I'm planning a very similar trip but am starting out in Budapest. I also ran across the Hostel Mostel page webpage and am probably going to stop by while in Sophia. However, I'm interested in the previous commentor's train trip to Istanbul. Did you reserve in the United States, or buy your tickets while in Sophia?
