leaving for trip to Eastern Europe on 6/19.. starts in Poland and ends in France. We are wanting to stay on a budget, but don;t want to sacrifice safety, cleanliness for hotels. Anyone have any ideas on a hotel that is in a safe area that would not be very far from the Charles DeGalle Airport? We will visit Paris but prefer to be somewhat close by the airport so we could take a taxi or shuttle. Better yet- an airport that had a shuttle that goes to the airport. Had heard that most places by the airport are not in safe areas. We are open to apartments or B and B's but sometimes they have a minimum night stay and we will only be staying two or three nights max.Thanks!

Unfortunately, you can't have it both ways. There are inexpensive hotels on the airport grounds that have free shuttles to the terminals. From these, however, you're looking at twenty-five bucks a head and at least an hour each way to get into town and back. For the same total cash-throw, you could stay in town for everhow many nights it suits you, then displace to the airport for the last night. I haven't heard of any areas around Roissy that have been labeled as being unsafe and I've know the area when the airport was a cabbage patch and a dream. If this notion suits you, you'll get a flood of recommendations in short order.

Checked out the area on google regarding crime and they considered it safe. We were fortunate to find a budget hotel for our last nite stay. Great news is.. it was pretty inexpensive and had a FREE shuttle to the airport!! WOO HOO!
Now on to looking for something in Paris! :)
