Has anyone taken the night train from Budapest to Prague?
We are leaving the Viking River Cruise after two days in Budapest and have three days for Prague. Is it better to take the night train for more time in Prague or is there scenery we should see on a day train and have 2 days in Prague?

There is little scenery on the way. Just between stations Brno and Chocen. I would go for more time in Prague.

There is a little info on Raildude.com. This train arrives at 3:30 am so its sort of a semi-night train. There is a slower train that leaves about the same time and arrives at 6:30 am. Either way, what are the plans for you and your luggage while you wait for check-in time at your hotel so you can shower and take a nap cause you really never slept on the train?

oh, and if you do this I would do it to allow another day in Budapest. but then I am biased.
