A group of four are going to be in Budapest for the weekend in March. What are the top things to see and do in such a short time?
We're headed there ourselves on Monday. As such, I've been doing a lot of research and think THIS post from TripAdvisor.com might be useful to you.
Have fun!
Castle hill has good sights (Fishermans Bastian, Mathias Church), going up at sunset is magical!
I really felt the House of Terror was worth our time, and it was rainy so all the better. Definitely go to one of the baths. Rick's Pest Town Center walk was a great introduction to the city.
Hi, Budapest is my wife's and my favorite city. I made it a quest of mine to find a city map with the tourist needed mass transit lines on it along with major tourist sites. I spent a month looking, with no success. The best maps are under glass in the subway stops. I have created the map I was looking for, it is in WORD as a simple .doc format so everyone should be able to down load. I am leaving for Istanbul March 22, so if you need such a map let me know soon. [email protected].
My wife just said her favorite places were Vorosmarty ter in the winter drinking mulled wine, Statue Park (collection of Soviet era statues), and the coffee shops. For me it is a city of love, hand holding, hugging, kisses, and a bit of butt squeezing. So I say go to Margarite Island and walk with your life's love.
