Budapest Hotel Suggestions?

I am a woman traveling alone to Budapest in March. I am looking for a hotel in a safe and central area, but I would like to keep the cost down to around £50 a night (about $100). Any suggestions?

I'd been planning to write to give advice about choosing between Krakow and Budapest...Sept 2007 we spent 3 days in each city...and needed more for Budapest, which it looks like you've chosen. The hotel we stayed in was the Boutique Hotel Zara, just off the Vaci Utca, steps from the Great Market Hall, a few more steps to Liberty Bridge to cross the Danube to the Gellert Hotel Baths, plus buses close, and a Metro stop not at all far. Multi-lingual staff, excellent breakfast included. Some have complained about no view..our room was 507, i think, and the view was of the lives of people in the apt building just( across the street. Don't remember the price...we booked thru voyages-sncf.com...whatever you pay will be less than in the UK.
And we loved Budapest...1st visit and would like to go again.
Didn't have the RS best of eastern europe at the time, but it's useful.

Kate - See my 2 hotel suggestions on your Budapest or Krakow posting. Both are nice (I've stayed at both) and they match your target budget.
