any thoughts on a hotel or pension in Budapest for 70 euros or less a night? something local
I have a room booked for four nights next week for 15 euros a night at the EAsy hotel oktagon. Owned by the same company as Easyjet. No frills, you will have to pay extra for maid service,tv etc...it is rated highly on Trip Advisor though. And it's walking distance to a lot of the sights.

I really enjoyed Danube Guest House. Located down the street from the Jewish Synagogue it is right in the heart of pest.
Owners Bob and Zoli are fantastic. Both speak fluent English and have a wealth of knowledge and time to offer. The rooms are spacious and clean. They provide croissants and juice in the morning. The largest double was 69 euro a nite. Singles I believe are 39 or 49 euro / nite.
We thought it was really nice to have the insights of locals in Budapest.
I second the Danube Guest House. My daughter just returned and said it was great and the location was fantastic.
We stayed at the Matyas and asked for (and received) a nice room with a view of the Danube, Chain Bridge and the castle. Room was reasonably priced as I recall. Check it out. If you stay there, get a room 5th-6th floor for a better view.
