First get a good guide book and then get Google Earth. There is a lot to see and do in Budapest and what you describe here just nicks the surface. As much I act to the contrary I am not a good tour guide; so I will just comment on what you have listed. Look for a list of Budapest Top Ten and start there. Once you decide what interests you I would group the days in the following zones One day devoted for the Parliament tour, Vaci and the Market. That keeps you on one straight line. I might be inclined to see the Parliament tour then take the tram to the market hall and then walk back up Vaci ut towards the center of Pest. Another day might be Buda Hill, the Hospital and then cross the chain Bridge for the Danube embankment and maybe the Jewish quarter. Another day could be devoted to Andrassy ut the House of Terror and the Bath House. Walk up and tram back. Of course this would be easier if I knew where you were staying. The final day consider a trip to Szentendre or a guided tour into something that really interests you: WWII, Cold War, Jewish, Churches, Parks, Music, Gypsies, River, Palinka, Wine, Cemeteries, Museums of Art or Transportation, or Technology, or Roman or ....?, The trouble is that there is enough to make it hard to recommend. OR, get to know Budapest at a really basic level in places most tourists don't walk .
What I skipped was what to do in each of the three zones but you can get that from the guide books. Really depends on your interests. Now everyone here will throw out their favorite places and that will help you choose as well.

Staying at regency suites a block or so from deak ference ter. I have the Rick Steve's budapest guide and DK eyewitness. Thanks for the ideas. First night will be simple dinner due to being tired from travel.
Will have 72 subway pass and not afraid to use it to find local eateries with good atmoshere/drinks/and food! Looking for several places to try on saturday and sunday night. Usually we go back to the hotel, relax for a bit, cleanup and then head back out for dinner so area of town is not a major concern.

Your hotel pratically backs up to the Gozsdu udvar which a connection of building court yards that extends from Kiraly utca (great street) to Dobb utca in the Jewish quarter. I fly over from the states too and yes, i am pooped when we arrive. When we have a long enough layover in Amsterdam we shower and change at one of the airport clubs so we feel good when we arrive. anyway, after you get checked in and cleaned up take the brief walk to the Gozsdu Courtyard and eat there. There are a number of places to choose from (cafe vian is good) and you will get some local flavor. And actually Cafe Vian should be your breakfast most mornings. Tell Ester hello. Almost directly in front of your hotel is the tram that will take you to the Great Market. Not much to figure out as it only goes one direction from that stop and you get off when you see the river. And sit on the left hand side and see the Great Synagogue on the way. Market will also be on your left.

Dinner for the other nights you are close to our place so the Guide I wrote for our guests will be of some help; especially the "unique" places to eat and the local places that lie between your hotel and the Opera House. You can get it at http://budapestflat.shutterfly.com/fivedaysinbudapest its the PDF file called "The Guide". It has a lot of things mapped out for you. Gyor is a town and its always open. But the Archabbey is closed until March 21st according to their website. By the way we arrive on the 6th of March for a quick trip (then in April for a longer trip). As i think of things i will keep adding them to your post.

Thanks so much for the help. I am getting the travel bug 2 weeks out. Might even take down the suitcases and start preparing for what to take!
