Any transport tips from 1) BUD to city center and 2) City center to PRG? Both mid-day. DESIRE simplicity (fewest transfers/language hassles) and value. Thank you!

In Prague the cheapest is public transport (26 crowns= little over 1 dollar). Bus 119 to Dejvicke namesti (which is the end of the line) then by subway (Metro) to Muzeum and you are on the top of Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske namesti) right in the center of the city. Somebody else will hopefully help you with Budapest.

Regarding Budapest, there are four options. First, a taxi, second a bus, third train, and fourth mini bus. Depending on where your hotel is, I would do a taxi or train. PM for more info if you like.

Which terminal are you flying into in Budapest? If it is Terminal 1, then it is easy and cheap to just take a train from the very-near-by Ferihegy train station into the Nyugati (western) station in Pest. Just walk out of the main entrance/exit of the terminal, take a left and follow the path until you get to the train station. I think our tickets were under 500Ft.
If you are flying into Terminal 2, you're probably better off taking a shuttle or taxi to the center, as there is no free/easy transfer option between Terminal 2 and Terminal 1.
