Bucharest to Brasov day trip

I am aware that the train each way is 3 hours and I am debating if I want to make a day trip to Brasov when I am in Bucharest later this year. It would have to be a day trip only, as I don't have time to stay overnight and return to Bucharest a day or two later. Any advice on this will be appreciated.

With your time limitation I would save it for another trip.
