Bosphorus Cruise

We took a Bosphorus cruise with I.B.O. - a company recommended by our hotel. We were very happy with their service - the staff were absolutely great! And the cruise was memorable - definitely a highlight to our time in Istanbul. There were a number of cruises to choose from - the one we chose included being picked up and dropped off at our hotel, lunch, a stop at Anadolu Kavagi on the Asia side to shop before continuing on up the Bosphorus to Poyrazkoy where we stopped for a swim in the Black Sea. Very cool!

We were in Istanbul and Turkey last summer during which time we also took a RS 14 day Turkey Tour. During the tour we were given what amounted to about half of the private boat tour. We had planned on going on a private boat tour to see much more of the area but the weather changed and the wind came up making for some very rough water. We decided not to go. What I am getting to is I would want to check on the weather before committing to the boat ride, especially if I had to pay for it ahead of time. I would go back to Istanbul in a minute. Or why not rent Istanbul's Zoe Yacht to yourselves for a real private cruise on the Bosphorus - See them at http://www.bosphorusyacht.com - we did their sunset cruise recently just for our family of 8 (including our 3 children who were very much welcomed on board) and other than the crew, there really was nobody else was on board, so we'd the complete use of this beautiful yacht to ourselves including the full outside deck, flybridge and front sundeck of the boat - we could sit where we pleased - the view from the flybridge is spectacular with 360 degree views of the Bosphorus but there is also a wonderful large table downstairs on the outer deck where we sat and enjoyed cocktails served to us. They also do a sightseeing or swimming cruises to Princes' Islands and Black Sea. The Bosphorus is spectacular at any time but it made a very special evening out for us as a family with the sunset going down over the city. Great service on board and easy to book - definitely a great experience for a truly private cruise.
