Bodrum to Kos and/or Rhodes

I will be in Bodrum for 4 days and was wondering if it would be a good idea to take the ferry to Kos or/and Rhodes for the day? Can I do that or is that not a "day trip"? Have never been to Bodrum so looking for things to do. Thanks!

not sure if you can go directly from bodrum to rhodes, i thought you have to go to mamarias first. i have done from rhodes to mamarias, then bus to bodrum. it takes a few hours, so you probably don't want to do day trip like that. bodrum area has a lot of little villages along the coast. if you like to swim or sit on the beach 4 days would work, but if you like to move around you probably will run out of things to do in 2-3 days. you can spend 1 day explore the town, there is a castle and a museum, and some ruins. 2nd day you can bus around to see some villages. if you have market day that could take about half day and then you can do a turkish bath in the afternoon, so i'd just spend about 3 days max, but leave 4th day on the beach.

Yes, you can take the ferry to Kos, and then another ferry to Rhodes. I went the other way, although I spent a couple of nights on Kos - I don't think Rhodes would be a day trip. Almost everyone else on my ferry from Kos to Bodrum was making a day trip to Bodrum. (For shopping, I think.)
