We will have 7 days, after RS Tour ends in Ephesus, to be in the Bodrum and Fethiye area, any suggestions of what to see and do. Also any suggestions for places to stay. Is travel by bus the best way to see this region?

While in Bodrum take the local Dolmus to the lovely little seaside village of Gumusluk. While in Fethiye take the bus to Olu Deniz. It's one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey and you can watch the parasails and hang-gliders. They all land right on the beach.

if you want to take a turkish bath you should consider in these areas - cheaper than istanbul. negotiate for add on services, can be a relaxing half day experience.

Hi Lynn - there are good bus services between the major towns etc, you just need to factor in the transit/wait times at the terminals for connecting buses etc. When I have limited time available, I prefer to hire a car. We just drove from Ephesus to Bodrum - and it took us 3 hours, and the road was really easy to drive and quite scenic. The Bodrum Peninsula has lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Yes you can tour Bodrum and visit the Castle etc. But if you enjoy wandering around farmers markets or craft stalls - you might enjoy getting off the beaten track and visiting the smaller towns and villages on the Peninsula. There's a really good reference website for the Bodrum Peninsula, that might be useful to you www.BodrumPeninsulaTravelGuide.co.uk. Ephesus was amazing. Take your time wandering around, and if the crowds get a big much - find a big stone in the shade, and take-5 to relax and enjoy. Take plenty of water, and a sun hat!
