Best way to get from Frankfurt Germany to Dresden

We are flying from Denver to Frankfurt and want to begin our adventure in Dresden, then on to Prague. Without renting a car and lengthy layovers, what are our options? I read there is a train but it is anight train.
International flights usually arrive in the morning in Frankfurt. Is there a cheap flight on one of the Ryan Air type carriers?

It's way easier by train than you think. I just looked it up in my Thomas Cook timetable. There are trains from Frankfurt to Dresden almost hourly, and most of them only take 5-6 hours! Moreover, you can actually take long distance German trains right from the Frankfurt airport. You don't even need to go from the airport into the city or the main train station (hauptbahnhof) at all. Although you'd probably have more choices from the hauptbahnhof than from the airport's train station. For example, one leaves the airport at 9:01 am and arrives Dresden at 2:04 pm. Another leaves at 10:11 and arrives at 3:28 pm. Another at 11:02 am/4:04 pm. And so on throughout the day. Go to www.bahn.de, the German rail website. Choose English and put in your departure and destination like you would any travel search page and see how neat a site it is! You'll have plenty of choices. And you'll love it, too!

Hi, If you are arriving in the morning, most likely the case, then you can catch an ICE direct to Dresden. As pointed out above, no need to go from the airport to the main train station (Frankfurt (M) Hauptbahnhof).
Also absolutely unnecessary to rent a car for going to Dresden as an option, the ICE train is good enough. Numerous trains (day) go from Frankfurt to Dresden, some direct, some stop first in Leipzig. I suggest the direct ICE.
