Trust me on this one, I've lived in Bucharest for 4 years and tried so many restaurants... The BEST restaurant in Bucharest is Locanta Jaristea, they are open for almost 20 years now... They have traditional dishes and the location is amazing - an old house. You feel like you're entering Bucharest's 1920 years. As for the food... that is exquisite! You should go in a big group and try different dishes or order more, because there are plenty of options to choose from and they are all very tasty!! ALSO, take your cameras, they have an authentic Romanian show every evening!

I can't give you specific restaurants, but I can tell you that I absolutely loved my trip to Romania and the food was definitely was definitely one of the highlights. We loved everywhere we ate, and I hope you enjoy the beautiful country. Transylvania area is also wonderful.

Hmmm... Sergiu urges us to "go in a big group" and "order more" at this particular restaurant. Not phrases you typically hear in an impartial restaurant review... just sayin'.

Dear Will & KIM, I usually go there with a bunch of friends and this is kind of our tradition (to order more dishes and share), that's why I recommended Locanta Jaristea. Moreover, they have a music show each evening and the whole place turns into a huge party and it's fun to go with a large group and to dance & eat than just to go by yourself and stay on the side. Yes, my recommendation is not like other recommendations because I really love this place and it feels like a second home. It was closed for two weeks for some works and now they're back open, can't wait to go again. Also, I woul like to invite you too, if you ever get in Bucharest. It would be my treat. ;)
