What month do you suggest traveling to Turkey. We traveled to Greece early May 2011 and it was cold and windy.
Late-May and Early-June are the best times, as well as mid-September after university students return home.
Thank-you. That is good to know. We like to incorporate Memorial Day into our traveling plans,so that would be a good time for us.
We were there last September and the weather was great! It was not too hot and the water along the Turquoise Coast was really warm. Also it was not too crowded at that time.
We were in Turkey in May 2009 and it it was very pleasant. The tulips and other flowers were in bloom. We wore light jackets some days but I don't remember cold and windy. We were in Istanbul, Selcuk, Cirali and Cappadocia.
I visited in early September to mid September 2010 and it was perfect.
Betty We were there last September (early) and it was still quite hot - I'd suggest mid to late September. I work with a Turkish man and he suggested the same timing. Have fun

We were there during the last 2 weeks of September, 2011. It was really warm in Istanbul; rained in Konya; and otherwise it was shirtsleeve weather except maybe evenings in Cappadocia. From that experience I recommend mid-September to mid-October. Good luck.
Betty, We were in Turkey for 19 days last October. We only had 2 days of cold, rainy weather. Very nice temps on the coasts. It was cooler in the central areas but only needed a light jacket. Be sure to take a balloon ride. We loved Turkey and you will too.
