Best Island to visit near Mykonos

Was looking at going to Tinos Island in August but seems there will be a huge influx of pilgrims there for Aug 15th. Any idea which other island to visit or will we find enough to do for 2 separate visits. One day in July and one in August

From Mykonos you should do a day trip to Delos. I have been to Syros, which is next to Tinos, and enjoyed it. It is not as touristy as Mykonos, but has a very nice little harbor area.

I was on Mykonos, Delos, Tinos, and Syros this past October. My vote would be to ferry over to Syros. I think it's one of my favorite Greek islands (so far!). I loved the neoclassical architecture that characterized Ermoupolis (the port city). There are many churches worth peeking into, one with an icon by El Greco. My husband and I had fun walking (climbing) through Ano Syros and and enjoyed the incredible views. It was very easy to catch the local bus and check out the remainder of the island as well. If you enjoy archaeology, Delos would be a good option for a day trip from Mykonos. It is an uninhabited island and was one of the most sacred places in ancient Greece. It's the third major site in the Olympia-Delphi-Delos triad. My husband studies ancient Greek history so we REALLY enjoyed our time there. Another option might be to ferry from Mykonos to Andros. I haven't been there myself, but perhaps others would have suggestions. Andros is the second biggest island in the Cyclades with a small neoclassical town on the North side that you would have to drive to from the port. It might be a fun place to do some hiking. The only hang-up with this option is that the ferry from Andros back to Athens docks at Rafina and not Piraeus. I hope you enjoy the islands!
