I am considering two apartments in Budapest but would like to know which area is best: Visegrádi St, Budapest (next to the train station) OR Erzsébet Körút, Budapest (in District VII). Thank you, Timothy

Not sure what district but we stayed near the Opera House and thought it was a good choice.

Just a few observations.... Your reference to "the train station" means little, since Budapest has 3: Keleti and Nyugati in Pest, and Deli in Buda. If you arrive in Budapest from Vienna, you would likely arrive at Keleti. I do not know where Visegradi St is, so I cannot comment on the quality of the area. Erzsebet Korut is part of a ring road in Pest that runs between 2 boulevardsRakoczi ut and Andrassy ut. Rakoczi runs from Keleti station down to near the river. As one goes from Rakoczi towards Andrassy on Erzsebet korut, things get nicer. Andrassy ut is a grand boulevard that runs, essentially, from City park down to Deak/Erzsebet ter. The other person who has replied to your post stayed near the Opera. The Opera is on Andrassy ut, not too far down from the intersection of Erzsebet korut and Andrassy ut. So that area's quite decentplaces to eat, good transportation. By the way, if you were to keep walking through the intersection of Erzsebet korut and Andrassy ut at the Oktagon, Erzsebet korut becomes Terez korut and takes you on to Nyugati rail station. best wishes; Budapest is a wonderful city!
