August trip to the Balkans - itinerary help needed

My mother, myself, and my son are planning to go to the Balkans area in August. Specifically we want to see Dubrovnik, Mostar, and Sarajevo, and then get back up to Budapest. I know we can fly in to Dubrovnik and out of Prague. I think we can take a bus from Dubrovnik to Mostar, and then another bus from Mostar to Sarajevo. How does one get from Sarajevo to Budapest? Also, can someone recommend the amount of time needed in each city? I was thinking of something like this: Dubrovnik - 3 nights Mostar - 1 night Sarajevo - 2 nights
Budapest - 3 mights I have 1 more night I could add to this itinerary if I've missed something essential, and am also open to reorganizing as appropriate. Thanks!

One option - take the Eurolines bus (takes 6-7 hrs) from Sarajevo to Belgrade from where you have train options to Budapest. If you do your research you will find that the train is normally not recommended between Sarajevo and Belgrade due to the changes and the lenghtly timeframe required. The other option looking at the map maybe to do Sarajevo-Zagreb-Budapest - you will need to check out bahn.de to figure out train timings and whether this is the option. We actually did the 1st option in the summer of 2009 though we did stop in Belgrade for 2 nights and also stopped again in Szeged for 1 night before carrying onto Budapest.

If you can add a night - stay one more in Budapest. Dubrovnik is pretty compact, so you might not need 3 nights. I'm thinking you are going to have quite a bit of travel time that you may not have factored into the itinerary.
