Attaturk Commemoration Day

Hi, Our first full day in Istanbul will be May 19th which is Attaturk Commemoration Day and Youth Day. Does anyone know if the local transport will be running on a different schedule from normal, will the major sights such as the archeological museum be closed that day? This is a Sunday so I know the Grand Bazaar won't be open and the Spice Market may or may not be open depending on the guidebook you read. I can't find the answers to these questions in my guidebooks. Thanks.

I wish I could tell you. Last year we arrived in Madrid on Spain's national day and left three weeks later on All Saints Day. As we were involved in Airport business and car renting it all just seemed like a Saturday. Best of luck with your question.
