We will be traveling from Athens (renting a car in Athens airport)to Kilini Port, ferry to Kefalonia(Poros) for an October 22 through October 30 visit. We have a Villa rented on the Island of Kefalonia. My question is getting from Athens to the Kilini Port and ease of travel and a one night stay on October 22 near or convenenient to the Kilini Port. Any sightseeing venues on that travel would also be appreciated.

Paul, You might find it helpful to have a look at This Website regarding travel to Kefalonia. I'm not sure if it will have specifically the information you're looking for, but it's a good start. You could also send an E-mail to the author of the website. He has always been very helpful, and usually responds quickly to E-mails. One point to note is that you'll require the compulsory I.D.P. for driving in Greece. Some rental firms won't rent cars without it! I assume you've seen the movie Captain Correlli's Mandolin? If you have time, post a note when you get back, as I've been interested in visiting there also. Happy travels!
