Searching for Athens apt. on VRBO and came across 2 that we liked. One is in the Panormou-Ambelokipi area, the other in Plateia Victoria. Is anyone familiar with these areas?

I would choose the Panormou-Ambelokipi apartment. The area has some good tavernas and the metro makes it a convenient location. The Saturday farmers market in Ambelokipi is awesome, by the way!

I agree with Katie. The advantage of Plateia Victoria is that it's only 2 stops on the metro to Monastiraki which is good for the Acropolis. It's also only a few minutes walk from the Archaeological Museum. On the other hand there isn't anywhere good to eat in that area. Ambelokipi is a bit less central but has more going on. Alan
