athens,mykonos, and santorini

My husband and I planning our first trip to greece, we plan to arrive in Athens on Sept. 6 ,stay 2 nights, take a flight or ferry to Mykonos, stay 2 nights, take a ferry to Santorini, stay 4 nights, take a flight back to athens, stay 1 night and return to the US on Sept .15.
my budget for hotel in Athens is about 100 euro/night, and for the islands is 150 euro/night. In Athens I want something close to the major sight, in Mykonos close to the beach and in Santorini, something with the caldera view. Any body has any suggestion for hotel? Am i going to fine something decent with my price budget? Also how long the ferry will take from Athens-Mykonos, and from Mykonos-Santorini.
also, is there some days that there wouldn't be any ferry ride?

Thanks in advance

Nicole: Lee, who first answered your posting is very knowledgeable about Greece - lucky for you that he saw your post. That said, would if be a good idea to fly directly on to Santorini when you first arrive in Greece. Ferry connection to Myknonos, then flight or ferry to Athens for two or three nights before departure back to USA. It would seem that this would save you some backtacking especially considering that the Athens airport is some distance from Athens.

Have a great trip - Greece will not disappoint.

Thanks for the comments, one more question: my returning flight form Athens to Lax will depart at 6:30 am so I have to be at the airport around 3:30am, will there be taxi available around 2 am in Athens form my hotel? do I need to ask the hotel to call me cab?

Thanks again

You can ask your hotel to have a taxi waiting there for you at 3:30 (we've done that several times from the Attalos).

Or -- you can spend your last night at the Sofitel Hotel at the Athens airport and just walk across the street at 4:30 am. Last year, when we did this, the cost of Athens hotel+taxi was about the same as the Sofitel.

Be advised that taxi fares between 11pm and 6am are double the day rate, so it will cost approximately €70 from Central Athens. There is a bus leaving from alongside Syntagma Square, the Airport Express Bus X95, that will take 45 minutes and costs €3.2 per person. The bus leaves every 20 minutes or so 24/7/365. Buy your tickets from the driver and validate them in the ticket machine inside the bus.
