If you're spending time in Athens can I recommend the temporary exhibition at the new Acropolis museum? It's small, free and, although (or because?) it's designed for children, gives a great insight into everyday life in ancient Athens.

The main museum itself isn't yet open - they are still transferring exhibits - but the temporary exhibition gives a sneak preview of what will be, I think, a spectacular building.

It is right next to the Acropolis metro and, when we went a couple of weeks ago, was only open 10 - 12.

Have a great time.

Alan:
Thanks for the info on the metro link between the airport and centre. My wife and I will be in Greece in May and we were hoping to use the metro to get back to the airport. I guess that plan is up in smoke now. Thanks again for the info!
