Athens airport hotels

After doing some research I was surprised at how few airport hotels there are in Athens. These were the two that I came up with. Both are a little more than you are looking to spend - but they are really the only ones I found that seem close enough to be considered "airport hotels".

Given that there is reliable 24 hour bus service from Syntagma Square to the Airport, I have always opted to stay near the Plaka, enjoy my last night in the shadow of the Acropolis, then catch the bus. Probably no less hassle than trying to arrange a cab from a hotel a few miles away from the airport.

Paul - any specific recommendations for hotels that last night in the Plaka?

I'm with Paul, I always spend that last night in town. The hotels closest to the Airport Express Bus Stop next to Syntagma Square are the Pan, Arethusa, Metropolis and Amazon. I'll be staying at the Amazon when I'm there in July. The Airport Express Bus leaves from alongside Syntagma every half-hour or so. Tickets are 3.2 euro. The trip takes 45 minutes if traffic isn't heavy. Buy your ticket from the driver and validate it in the machine inside the bus. Luggage storage racks are also inside.
