April/May weather in Turkey

A few years ago we were in Turkey the first week in May; the temperatures at Ephesus and Pamukkale were in the mid 90's (F). We're planning another trip and wonder if that was unusual - would prefer to avoid a repeat but also realize going the latter half of April may have increased chance of rain, which we'd also like to avoid. Thoughts? Jim

Have you checked historical temperature records at a site like weatherunderground.com? That may be your best source of information. The temps you posted seem unusual - though my only data point was being in Istanbul towards the latter part of May and I found the temp to be very pleasant - 70s or low 80s.

Great idea Arnold, wasn't aware of that resource. Thanks!
