Any quicker way to get to Venice from Slovenia?

Does anyone have information on the Venezia lines boats from Slovenia to Venice? In Rick Steves's newest edition, Croatia and Slovenia, he states that boats leave from either Porec, Piran, Rovinj or Pula and take only two hours. I went onto the website for Venezia lines and found no shedules for May 22nd (or other Saturday dates I arbitrarily plugged in) from any of these cities to Venice. I keep getting a message "No sailings".

Hi, thanks for your reply. I got the following answers today from Venezia Lines FYI:
We are currently creating a new website which will be completely updated and this will be launched maximum the middle of February 2010. This will contain the updated schedule and all information you may require. The online bookings should also be available as from Middle of February.

With regards to your request for a trip in May, I can confirm that in the month of May we are planning the following schedule:

Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday as follows:

Departure Rovinj at 07:00 - Transit stop in Porec at 07:30 - Departure Porec at 08:00 - Arrival Venice at 10:30

Departure Venice at 17:00 - Transit stop in Porec at 19:30 - Departure Porec at 20:00 - Arrival Rovinj at 20:00

With the regards to the rates, these are not finalised as yet, however we are not expecting any changes in the prices for 2010 in respect to the prices from 2009, however once again I cannot confirm the final price as we are still awaiting confirmation for the authorities to verify if there will be any changes in the tax rates. Please use the 2009 rates quoted as an indication for 2010.

If speed is your main concern - by car it's a quick and easy all freeway drive. Busses run, but very early, and the train's a bit of a hassle. Where in Slovenia are you coming from?

Chris,
Did you rent a car in Slovenia to drive to Venice? I was planning on the 4 hour 'night train' but unclear if it actually runs...
I would be interested in driving if it eases the commute and beats the train; can you provide any info / tips / cost etc. on this?
Thanks! Sorry for thread hopping :)

We had a delightful ferry ride from Piran to Venice a few years ago. However, the ferry didn't sail every day of the week.
