Anyone have any thoughts/reviews about Rick's new book, Athens & The Peloponnese?
I bought it and it's not my favorite book of Rick's - I'm only going to Athens, so I wish there was more detail (and especially more lodging listings). If I had more time, I'd definitely explore more of the Peloponnese, but it's not possible on my trip.
kim, I can't believe you retyped the tours! I wish I had that kind of dedication! :) I'm going in a couple weeks and usually end up photocopying some pages out so I don't lug the whole book the whole time.
Kim and Suzanne: Thanks for those thoughts. It being a brand new book, Rick's editors might be especially interested in your comments, there's a place here on the site for submitting comments/suggestions. After Suzanne's post, I counted the # of Athens hotels/Rick's picks for sleeps, 23 or something like that. Assume you're not going to do the Hotel Grande Bretagne at €350/night? Yeah, me neither. You don't even get 10% off for showing them Rick's book. Sheeesh.I wasn't surprised that Rick brought Gene Openshaw back to write "Greek History & Mythology" in 20 pages. I'm guessing Gene wrote a lot of Europe 101.
Kim: Thanks for the kind words. Glad I could give you a laugh. Seems like laughs are needed these days, more than ever. See you on the Helpline!
