An open invitation to meet on Santorini, June 12 (Part 2)

Look at this map for the Restaurant Location: http://www.santorini-hotels.info/santorini-island-santorini-map/santorini-oia-map.htm#c

Laokasti Restaurant is Orange #16 in 'C10' across from the large Church of St. George, on the right side of the road about 300 yards/meters past the Anemomilos Tavern and the Windmill at the "Oia Market" ('C13').

The prices are fair and the food from the standard menu is traditional Greek cuisine. I think you can expect to pay between 15-20 euro per person for a meal, more for grilled meats and fish, and of course the wine is extra! Please let me know soon if you plan to attend so I can give the owner of Laokasti some idea of what to expect in the way of customers that night. Also, VERY IMPORTANT-- I promised the owner I would try to give him some idea of how many people will be coming, and most importantly how many of you would be having a meal as opposed to drinks and mezzes, so please let me know what your intentions will be food-wise.

Keep checking this message for updates. I will "top" it occasionally so everyone has a chance to read it and so it doesn't get buried.

Any questions?

Hope to see you there!

What a great idea Lee! Thank you for the invitation--I'm disappointed that we won't be in Greece at that time. Maybe next year!!

Ah, that is a really nice idea - unfortunately I won't be in Greece until September. However I'll be sure to check out that restaurant when I'm there! Hope you all have fun =)

Lee I'd love to join you if you'll do it again the following week as well. I'll be staying in Oia June 17-21. If not, thanks for the restaurant recommendation:)

Okay it's the day after, I'm curious - did it happen? How was it?

It was a lot of fun. About 20 people showed up from various corners of Europe and the US/Canada along with a couple of local contributors from Santorini who wanted to join in. The wine flowed and the conversation was lively. All in all, it was a very pleasant way to spend an evening.

Hi Lee,

It sounds like it was lots of fun and a great idea--did you set a date for 2010?!
