Airport shuttles in Bodrum, Turkey

I'm flying from Istanbul to Bodrum, and have to decide between Turkish Airlines or Atlas Air. Both have the same fare, but I heard Atlas Air has a free shuttle into town, and otherwise that fare is around $40. Does anybody know any more reliable information about airline shuttles from Bodrum airport? Thanks!

When I flew out of Bodrum I took a bus from the bus terminal to the airport, and although I don't remember what the cost was I am absolutely sure it wasn't anywhere near $40! Is the shuttle you found door-to-door from Airport to your hotel or does it just take you to the bus terminal? FYI-If your hotel is in Central Bodrum it's more than likely just a short walk from the bus terminal. Hopefully you have good directions.

The 'Havas' bus service offers transfers from the airport to Bodrum bus terminal after both Atlas, Onur and Turkish Airlines flights. I recall that is is about 17 TL per person.

Try enlisting the help of the hotel. They will know if the transfer bus drops you at the hotel. They may even have their own pick up service. I have always found taxis a great way of getting around in Turkey. They are not expensive by our standards and if there are a few of you in the party it can save you money. Agree a price, don't agree to the first price they expect to haggle, before you get into the taxi. Bodrum is not large and unless your hotel is out of town or you have tons of luggage it will be within walking distance.

Thanks everybody. All the travel books are scaring me with their warnings. It's like checking out WebMD when you get a headache. I'm slowly realizing everything is going to be okay. I found the Atlasjet shuttle page: http://cmss.atlasjet.com/en/campaigns/flybusen Yes, they really have free shuttles into central Bodrum after flights. I bought my ticket so now I'm all set. Anyway, thanks again!

I flew Atlasjet from istanbul to izmir several days ago and the shuttle service from Izmir to Selcuk and return was very reliable. I would use Atlasjet again in the future.

Thanks, Jennifer! I'm staying in Selcuk the night before I fly to Istanbul, and plan to take Atlasjet's free bus from Selcuk to Izmir airport before the flight. Good to know they're reliable!
