Airflight from Toronto or Detroit to Croatia?

Hello:
I live in London, Ontario Canada. I am about equal distance to the Detroit Michigan or the Toronto, Ontario Canada airport. We are going to Croatia in September 2009. I am discouraged about the prices of the airfare to get there. It is a bit tricky since we will be flying into Split, Croatia and leaving at the end from Dubrovnik Croatia. Does anyone have any helpful advice?
Thanks for your consideration!

Hi Carrie,

Check posts on the transportation site for information about flying into Frankfurt or London and then taking a regional airline into Croatia--Croatia Air, or one of the discount ones (Easyjet or Thompsonfly). Last summer, we had one way tickets into Dubrovnik from London, England and out of Budapest, so it can be done. You might have to check the smaller airlines first so you know where to fly into from Canada.

There's also some discussion about using the same carrier to minimize problems with connections. We decided to spend a couple of nights in London and then catch a flight to Dubrovnik so there are different options.

The following site might be helpful to find flights not necessarily from N/A to Croatia but from European hubs. There's an Easyjet flight from Gatwick to Split for about 57 pounds.

Hi
I am in the same boat, so to speak. I have found that it is much cheaper out of T.O. than Detroit, but still not great. Keep us posted if you find anything good!
I'm wondering if anyone can tell us how reliable the cheap European airlines are. I worry about making the connections.

To save some money you can fly into a bigger city in Europe, close by Split and take the train from there or use a small air line company.
Skyscanner.net will give you information about this.
I would wait a little and check air fares next year.I never booked a flight so far in advance.
