AIRbnb apartment site

I have been looking into two Budapest apartments on this site but am concerned about 1) they don't provide the precise address until you book it; 2) there are very few if any reviews on any given apartment; and 3) all contact is via the website like facebook so no direct contact with the host. Has anyone else used AIRBNB? For Budapest apartments? Thank you, Timothy

I used AirBnB for a Paris rental and have no regrets. Did you email the apartment contact? If they answer as they should you should get all the info you need. Not uncommon to not know the physical address until you book for security reasons.

I used Airbnb for an apartment in Vancouver BC, it worked out well.

I've just used AirBnB for some Athens enquiries. The two owners I posted questions to have now sent answers within a half hour. I haven't figured out the time difference but given that we are just about on the 'other' side of the timezone world I'm VERY impressed with this 'new' way of connecting. It must be in the wee morning hours there. Also, the contact was direct I received a personal reply from one of the owners even tho' I had not put in a booking request. We booked with the other owner and I received a nearly immediate text message confirming the booking (and also providing a specific answer to a question I'd asked about departure arrangements). Using the 'map' view we were able to determine the locations fairly accurately down to the street and intersection (tho' not the house number on the street).

I booked an Acropolis apartment on Airbnb and it was lovely, convenient and easy. Twice I used hostelworld for the same in BudaPest and was not disappointed. just look at the general area and Hostelworld had lot's of reviews on B'pest. Once I stayed in a great place near St. Stephens and another closer to the marketplace. Another site I use is Hostelclub.

I don't know the company you mention but i do know this company in Budapest: http://www.budapestholidayservice.com/ They represent individual apartment owners, many Americans, and yes they care for my place as well. I trust them with my home is the best recommendation i can give. no, i get no commission for recommending them. There are many other good local apartment agencies in Budapest as well. What is most important is location.

Used airbnb to book two different lodgings in London before and after a RS tour of Istanbul. No problems what so ever.
Both hosts replied immediately via email. Both places were great. I don't and won't Facebook so all correspondence was by email. Everything worked out fine. One place was so good, if available, it will be where I stay each time I'm in London.
