Air Options Budapest to Dubrovnik

I've been sleuthing for flights from Budapest to Dubrovnik in late June 08 and am striking out. Any suggestions?

Ann - I did the same thing over the past couple months. We are trying to fly on 6/23/08. I had flights booked on Malev Air (direct). Then they cancelled that route so we got a refund. We're now flying on Croatia Air to Vienna and taking the train to Budapest (about 3 hours). Not ideal, but it's about the only option.

Thank you Amy! We'll be doing the same (travelling overland from Vienna to Budapest). Our challenge is the Budapest to Dubrovnik leg. We are cycling from Dubrovnik to Split via the coastal islands and just need to get to Dubrovnik from Budapest in a fairly timely fashion. Maybe more flights will be added as we approach the holiday season?? Ann

After re-reading your reply, we may end up doing something similar but in reverse (i.e. returning to Vienna for a flight to Dubrovnik). Ann

SkyEurope (skyeurope.com) flies from Bratislava to Dubrovnik. Bratislava is approx. 120 miles from Budapest-2.5 hour bus or train ride. I have flown this airline, they are fine. You can also catch a SkyEurope shuttle bus from Vienna to Bratislava airport, which is very inexpensive.

Thank you all for your helpful information. We've decided to catch a flight from Vienna to Dubrovnik, as flights from other locals are limited at the moment. My new question, we need a pension/B&B in Split for one night. Any suggestions??

p.s. Thanks for the reminder regarding Europe's baggage limits. We travel with Rick Steve's 22 inch bag and do a whole lot of laundry.

Ann,
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Ana--a small hotel with clean, modern and quiet rooms with breakfast included. The Old Town in Split is a 5 minute walk and I think we were only about 10 minutes walking time from the bus station and the ferries.
