We will be in Dubrovinik for a few days and I see from other travelers that Montenegro is quite beautiful. I have not a clue where to go there. Any suggestions?

I would suggest Kotor for a night and then on to Budva. If you have a rental car you can stop on the way to Kotor and visit the man made islands in the Bay of Kotor. Budva is a touristy city with lots of beaches. I cannot comment on Podgorica as we did not get there.
