My husband and I are flying in and out of Prague in early October for a 10 day tour of the area. We are wondering how many days we should give at a minimum to each of these cities. Also, we were going to take the train to Vienna, tour then to Budapest and tour and fly back but we found a very inexpensive roundtrip flight between Prague and Budapest so we thought we would travel to and from Vienna by train. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.
Ellen....I'm not sure I understand your question but perhaps this will help. If you were splitting ten days I would suggest 3/Prague, 3/Budapest, and 4 Vienna. It all depends upon your particular interests. For instance, Vienna and Budapest offer wonderful music options but perhaps you are not interested in music. But if it were me, that is how I would split the time. You are going to have a great trip. Enjoy.
Actually, my need for clarity is more complicated than my question. We decided to fly to and from Budapest once in Prague because of air deals, and wondered about fitting Vienna into the side trip (by train). It sounds like from your answer, we should definitely spend more time in Vienna than initially planned.
