Adria Airlines from Ljubljana -Frankfurt

We are flying back to the USA at the end of our RS tour of Eastern Europe (yes, I know it is really central Europe) from Ljubljana with an overnight in Frankfurt. The airline's carryon regulations allow only one item and the size of the bag allowed seems smaller than most US carriers. Has anyone had experience with this airline. ( tickets are booked thru Lufthansa). Thanks.

Jeani - We flew on Adria from Frankfurt to Ljubljana in May. My wife and I each had 1 "carry on" plus one small "personal item". Carry ons were: mine: old rectangular REI convertible pack, dimensions roughly 21" x 14" x 6" (what used to be generally considered the maximum size for carry-ons - but that was years ago before wheelies became common). wife's: convertible wheelie pack, dimensions roughly 23" x 14" x 9". This pack was advertised as carry-on legal but actually exceeds the current carry-on limits for many airlines (wheels, handle, frame protrude). Our personal items were the small/medium sized day packs that zip off our carry on bags. Nobody gave our bags much scrutiny when we checked in for the flight, certainly nobody ever measured or weighed them. The Adria gate agents in Frankfurt were pretty casual. The flight was only about 3/4 full, so I don't know if they would be any more strict about bags if it were full. The aircraft was a small jet but was perfectly fine. We already had our boarding passes for the Adria flight from our check-in for the transatlantic Lufthansa flight in Seattle. They (Lufthansa) only gave our bags a cursory glance. Ljubljana is cool. I'm sure you'll have a great trip. Have fun!
