I have read that there are two places to get off the Circum...to see the Acropolis, Monastraki and Acropolis. One is easier to get to than the other. Which is the better side to approach?

Both are equally convenient. If walking through Monastiraki and the Plaka first is part of your plan then the Monastiraki Metro Station is best. But of course you can transfer at the Syntagma Station for the Acropoli Station, which puts you closer to the entrance to the Parthenon, then afterwards walk down the Acropolis to the Plaka and Monastiraki Square.
