We are going to walk the Acropolis with RS audio tour and then do the Agora RS audtio tour. I am confused as to which one to do first. I thought that the Agora was northwest of the Acropolis and that maybe we should do that first and then over to the Acropolis as we are staying just on the otherside of the new Acropolis museum and would want to end up near to our hotel. I have found a few recommendations that you DO NOT want to start at the Agora and then go to the Acropolis and so I am very confused. Can anyone help? We want to be most efficient with our afternoon. Laurie, I imagine the Acropolis first recommendations are because as the centerpiece of Athens and of ancient Greek culture, everything else relates in some way. For example, the new Acropolis Museum (don't miss that!) makes much more sense if you visit the Parthenon and the rest of the Acropolis first. You are right, the Agora is to the northwest and the museum (and your hotel) is on the southwest. If I was staying there, I would start with the Acropolis, then walk to the Agora, and if I was tired, take a taxi back to the Acropolis Museum. Otherwise, I would just enjoy the walk back. Have fun! Laurie, I'd suggest touring the Acropolis first and then travel downhill to the Agora. That's the route we followed on the RS tour of that area, and it worked well. That part of the tour ended about lunchtime, which worked out well as there were some nice restaurants just outside the Agora. Happy travels!

I'd start early in the morning and be at the Agora when it opens, tour the Agora and then up the hill to the Acropolis and the Theatre of Dionysus then take a lunch break and see the Acropolis Museum. The Acropolis is less crowded later in the day (around 1:00) and the Acropolis Museum is open later than the Acropolis and the Agora. Both close at 3:00 or 3:30. Makes for a long day but they all connect and you can relax over a good meal afterwards.

Well, unfortunately we only have the afternoon to tour the acropolis and the agora. So, if we make a quick run through the Agora and Mars Hill, then we can walk up to Acropolis and tour it with our RX walking tour which is approx. 55 mins. hopefully we can be done before 3:30 pm closing time.
