Accomodations- Zakopane, Poland

Will be in Poland mid to late June 2013 and was told by a friend who lived there to not miss the beauty of Zakopane, Poland! We plan to go but wondered if anyone has stayed at any of the pensions or B&B.s there? What places would you recommend? Prefer to stay on a budget but want something safe and clean. Does it get cool and should I bring warmer clothes?

Don't you hate it when instead of having your question answered someone gives you totally off the subject information. Well here it goes. About 1.5 hours by car south of Zakopane (75 km drive or about 35 km as the crow flies)is the Slovakia town of Štrbské Pleso and the Kempinski Grand High Tatras Hotel. One of the most beautiful places I have yet to find in the region. The hotel will send a car just about anyplace you happen to be to pick you up. http://www.kempinski.com/en/strba-strbske-pleso/grand-hotel-high-tatras/welcome/ And go to Google Images and Google "strbske-pleso" to see photos of the area.

Just read you post...Zakopane is beautiful...unfortunately it rained every day that I was there, so be prepared; raincoat/umbrella. Just before leaving for the plane, I threw in a heavier fleece jacket & long sleeve shirts...that's all I ended up wearing for over 2 weeks, it was that chilly. Willa Carlton is very safe & clean. Take the bus to Zakopane from Krakow; it takes app 2 hrs & leaves every half hour or so from the bus station located behind the train station (Krakow Glowny) no reservations required. Tickets are 18/PL. you can also save money buy eating out at the small places where street food is served; finding the milk bars (they are cheap!), also bakeries, & stores. my splurge was staying at these B&B's flo
