Accomodation in Istanbul

We are looking to heading to Turkey in September and would welcome suggestions on accomodation. We are older budget travellers and prefer accomodation with private bathroom.

Rob, on Tripadvisor I found good reviews for this well located hotel: (http://www.apricothotel.com/rates.html),
which looks lovely and seems to be a great deal for 44 Euros a night, including breakfast. Perhaps someone else has stayed at The Apricot and could give a personal opinion.

I've stayed at the Apricot in spring of 2006. There are 2 buildings, the older original one and a newly renovated one just around the corner. We stayed at the original one. Rooms are comfortable but basic. I think all have inroom bathroom facilities--ours certainly did. The location is excellent in the heart of Sultanahmet, though you will be wakened at dawn by the call to prayer from the nearby Blue Mosque. The room price includes an excellent buffet Turkish breakfast (fresh fruit, bread, eggs to order, white and yellow cheese, tomatoes, etc.) in a rooftop dining room with to-die-for view includes real coffee, which is unusual by Turkish breakfast standards. No hairdryers in the room, but ask at the front desk and you can borrow one. There is a computer in the front desk lounge area which you are free to use to go online, check email, etc. Staff are extremely helpful for recommended tourist activities and places to eat.
