Any suggestions for nice place to stay in Oia? Not a big hotel but a small privately owned one.

Do a search for similar questions - you will see one thread that was started 3 days ago and there are other ones around.
Arnold is right - do a search for Santorini and you'll find them.
The suggestions for OIA will be small, locally owned inns because that what they have there. The location of the community is such that any inn of more than a few rooms is unlikely.
We had a great visit at Katikies. It is in the splurge category but if you want to be pampered in a beautiful location it is perfect.
Check out the Aspaki Hotel. Great location -- unsurpassed views. Check under tripadvisor.com/aspaki and you can also see great photos submitted by previous guests.
Tripadvisor.com is a very good idea. Sorry that I didn't think of it.
I haven't stayed there yet - but I've booked at Aris Caves for September. It has really great reviews on trip advisor and the user published photos look lovely.
Good luck!
We were there in May and loved our room at Delfini Villa - a nice balcony overlooking the caldera, quiet, clean, reasonably priced, refrigerator in room and friendly, helpful owner. (They have apts. also.) We were 20 m. from the bus stop. There is a bakery across the marble walkway to get fresh warm pastry every morning, and a couple little markets for juice, fruit, wine etc.- so we had breakfast, lunch and wine & olives & cheese at sunset on our balcony every day.

In June we stayed at Oia's Sunset. We had a 4 person apartment (kitchen incl.) for 150Euro/night. Good location in Oia, and the manager Panos is exceptionally nice.
