Hi, I am patiently waiting for the 2007 Croatia book to come out but in the meantime if anyone has a recommendation of places to stay in Split I would love to hear them, would prefer to stay central and the Peristil Hotel is a little out of our price range at 160+ Euros. Thanks
Hi We were in Split in August and stayed at Hotel Anna which was Ricks recommendation in his Eastern Europe book. It was very confortable and nice, only about 5 rooms, andm a very good location near the historic part of Split and the water. Loved it.
Helene.
After looking at Split, we decided to stay in Trogir and I am so happy we did. There is a bus stop just outside the city gate (5min walk) which will take you into split but the ambiance of Trogir was one of the highlights of our trip. I think the hotel name was Hotel Continental right on the waterway. The city sits inside an ancient castle and holds much of that traditional time era whereas when we visited split, we felt it was extremely commercialized with designer shops and jewlery stores on every ancient corner.
