A Place to stay in Budapest

We have flying into Budapest in the late afternoon and then flying out around 1100 hours. Thus my question is 1. Should we stay in town or near the airport?
2. Wherever you recommend, do you have a hotel that you would recommend?

I flew into Budapest late morning, midweek, in May. It was about an hour to get luggage and sign up for the shuttle. Then I waited another 20 minutes or so. The ride in was another 40 minutes - no traffic. My hotel was the farthest, so I was last off - another 10 minutes. A taxi would have saved a lot of time, but costs a lot more. You won't have time to do anything in the morning, since you probably have to be back at the airport 2-3 hours before your flight. So if you are arriving late afternoon, you won't get to see much of Budapest. Hotels - depends on your budget.

Hello there. I stayed in Budapest in March and found a wonderful place to stay. It's name is Agape Aparthotel. When I arrived at the airport and was picked up, the ride was only about 15-20 minutes via taxi. It's located on the Pest side and located right down the street from the metro. If you're feeling a little adventurous, you can even walk to the Danube River which is about a 10 or 15 minute beautiful walk. The Hotel is actually small apartments. My room was very clean and very neat. I'd be happy to share any of my experience with you should you have any questions. http://agapeguesthouse.eu/
