I'm looking at a cruise leaving Rome in late March, going to Piraeus, Kusadasi, Rhodes, Chania, Naples and then back to Rome. Does any one have experiences, suggestions for this? Thank you,
Elaine
Your best bet will be to check out cruisecritic.com. You can read reviews of the cruise line, ship, ports of call, ship sponsored and self guided excursions, how to get to the port, where to stay before/after the cruise, etc. When you sign up for a cruise, they also have a roll-call board so you can chat with others who are taking the same cruise. They usually have a get together on the first sea day so you can start the cruise with at least a few familiar faces. I've booked several cruises through vacationstogo.com. It's an online travel agent that specializes in cruises. Their prices are the same as all the other online agents and I've never had a problem with my bookings. I would at least check the site for prices before booking with a travel agent so you know you're getting a decent price.
Elaine We have traveled on Costa Cruises twice and were very happy. They are a European company so be prepared to hear up to five languages for the announcements. They have very good rates and itinerary's. I wrote a review on the Costa Mediterrania in uise reviews Nov 11/09.
Have fun.
