Has anyone stayed in the Marousi suburbs of Athens? We'll be going in early June of 2013 and would like to know if we'll spend too much time in transportation and if this is a lovely location.

If you plan on using the green line of the metro (which is mostly above ground expect for the city center) the duration of the journey from Marousi to Monastiraki would be about 30 minutes not counting time waiting for the train. Also, each ticket is going to be 1.40 Euro. This suburb is nice, however I would persuade you to stay closer to the city center to save time and transportation costs. If you are looking to stay in the suburbs and don't mind the long metro ride I might skip Marousi and stay at the end of the green line in Kifisia. Journey time from Kifisia to Monastiraki is about 35 minutes. Feel free to PM me if you have more specific questions about these locations.
