We will be in Prague for New Year's Eve and we were planning on attending the fireworks in Old Town Square. I have read that it is not a safe place to be because individuals shoot off bottle rockets and other dangerous fireworks that end up injuring people in the crowd. Does anone know if that really happens?
I haven't actually been there for New Year's, but I can imagine that if this is true, people could very easily get hurt in this relatively small area. Even during Easter weekend, the Old Town Square was packed, I can just pictures the sea of humanity on New Year's! Now add to the mix some misplaced bottle rockets...
