If you want more Istanbul info check out Trip Advisor.com. There is an Istanbul forum there that is much more active (for Turkey) than this one is. When I started researching my trip a few months ago a poster here suggested it, and it has been just fantastic. Just type "Istanbul forum" into the search box and you will find links to it. There are hotel reviews, and discussion of hotels by forum users. However: hotel reviews are sometimes pumped up by people who post one time, then disappear. So take "reviews" with a grain of salt, and instead type the hotel name into the "FORUM" search box and see what forum posters have to say about that hotel. If I remember correctly, Sari Konak and Dersaadet are well thought of. They were on my list too. But so are others you may not be aware of.
